Report of the February Dialogue Meeting - Sunday, February 26th.

  • Attendance up 20 %
  • No votes taken
  • No minutes to report.

AA Style Sharing Format used:

Two primary concerns emerged:
  1. Get the Grey Sheet out immediately.
  2. Get us to the first World Service Conference.

7 of the 12 current Board members were present and reported the following on current progress with the above issues:

November, 2011 was the last board meeting. All meetings since then have been cancelled by the board leadership. All calls, email or written communication have gone unanswered.

  1. Board discussed, voted on and passed Via email (as allowed by GSAWS Board by-laws) a method for distribution of the GreySheet (included Intergroups requesting permission and taking responsibility for distribution)
  2. The decision about the distribution method and instructions was posted on the website.
  3. The plan provided for any meeting not affiliated with an Intergroup to ask existing Intergroups to provide them with GreySheet copies.
  4. Rationale for the Plan:

  • The GreySheet is owned by the legal entity (GSAWS, Inc.)
  • Only GSAWS, Inc. can legally give permission to duplicate and distribute the GreySheet with the new GSA logo.
  • Without signed permission, those copying the GreySheet would be in violation of the copyright at the bottom of the page.
  • The President of the legal entity has not signed, responded, nor denied any request sent to them by Intergroups. We do not know why because no one has received replies to calls or email.

ACTION REQUESTED BEFORE NEXT DIALOGUE MEETING:

Groups and Intergroups consider and propose, via group conscience, a motion that describes how the GreySheet should be distributed to the fellowship according to Traditions and the law.

Groups please email motions to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by Friday, March 23rd so there is time to prepare for the meeting on Sunday. All proposals will be compiled and sent back out to the Dialogue Meeting list on Saturday, March 24th.

Letter From Board Chair to GSA Community

E-mail Print PDF

Dear fellow members of the GreySheet fellowship,

I have been asked by my fellow board members to take on the position of chair to the GreySheeters Anonymous World Service Board. This is an assignment I take on with deep humility. I understand the huge responsibility this position represents, and I will do my utmost to be trustworthy of it.

My first thought when writing this is of our former chair Marvin A., of his vision and passion for our community. He has held the beacon high and guided our way; without him and numerous others that in the last decade or so have paved our path into our own fellowship, we would not have come so far. I salute you Marvin A. and thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is because of people like you that I'm GreySheet abstinent.

I, like Marvin A., and so many of you, have a vision of my fellowship. It is of a strong and thriving fellowship of people weighing & measuring their food. I see it growing worldwide as people get more and more guided to the solution we have.

In my mind, there is no coincidence that the salvation of this century, the solution of the 12 steps, was brought to the sickest of the sick, to AA members and later us the low bottom gluttons of the world. From the recovery we receive, we give hope, that even we can get well.

As our disease will be acknowledged by the World Health Organization (WHO) and accepted as one, more people will realize what is really wrong with them and we will have more people join our fellowship. History of AA shows this as truth.

Purpose of GSA World Service

E-mail Print PDF

GreySheeters Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other to recover from compulsive overeating by following the GreySheet, a food plan for carbohydrate sensitive people.  We weigh and measure without exception three meals a day with nothing in between except black coffee, tea, diet soda, or water.  We utilize the program of Alcoholics Anonymous in arresting compulsive overeating. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop eating compulsively.  There are no dues or fees for GreySheeters Anonymous membership.  We are self-supporting through our own contributions.  GSA is not allied with any sect, denomination, religion, politics, organization, or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes.  Our primary purpose is to help compulsive overeaters to achieve abstinence.

What is GreySheeters Anonymous World Services, Inc.?
In 1996 the world-wide GreySheet Community was surveyed by a GreySheet Task Force.  The primary request in the survey was for the community to create a formal organization to carry its message of recovery from compulsive overeating using the GreySheet and the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous.  The result is recovery on three levels - physical, emotional, and spiritual.  On April 6, 1998 GreySheeters Anonymous World Services, Inc. was incorporated as a Twelve Step program to implement the mandates of the survey.
