What is GreySheet Abstinence?

• Weighing and measuring three meals a day from the GreySheet as explained by a qualified GreySheet sponsor;
• Committing those meals to a qualified GreySheet sponsor before eating them;
• Doing this without exception, i.e., there is no situation where we do not weigh and measure;
• Eating or drinking nothing in between those three meals except black coffee, black tea, no-calorie soft drinks, or water.

Where can I get a copy of the GreySheet?

• The GreySheet food plan is obtained from a sponsor.
• The food plan is distributed to those who are willing to work with a sponsor and become abstinent as we define it.
• The GreySheet is not a diet.  It is A Way of Life.

What is a qualified GreySheet Sponsor?

• Someone with at least 90 days of continuous abstinence as defined above;
• Someone who is also committed to a qualified GreySheet sponsor.

How do I get a Sponsor?

• Face-To-Face Meetings
• Phone Meetings
• Online - For initial contact only, to obtain a sponsor's phone number.
• International Phone List - Subscribe to this monthly publication, which lists hundreds of members worldwide, including available sponsors.
• Join GreyNet - Post a request to this online group, to obtain a sponsor's phone number privately.

What is a GreySheet Meeting?

• A group of compulsive eaters who meet to share their experience, strength, and hope on GreySheet abstinence as defined above.
• All trusted servants and all meeting leaders/qualifiers are qualified GreySheet sponsors.
• GreySheets come with a qualified GreySheet sponsor.
• Only GreySheet and AA conference-approved literature are used.

What are the Formats of Meetings?

• Qualification - A qualified GreySheeter, with 90 or more days of back-to-back abstinence, shares for 15 to 20 minutes on his or her experience, strength, and hope.  This is typically followed by members who share 3-5 minute positive pitches for GreySheet abstinence.
• Step/Tradition Study - Members read and discuss GreySheet and AA conference-approved literature to study the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions.
• Tools, Basics - Members share the fundamentals of attaining and maintaining GreySheet abstinence.

How do I stay abstinent?

What is an AWOL?

• AWOL is a closed step-study meeting, convened over a period of time, typically for 9 - 12 months, to work through all Twelve Steps, using a specific format.
• AWOL step-studies are led by members who have completed a previous AWOL.
• The AWOL is NOT a GreySheet meeting:  You must have at least 90 days of back-to-back GreySheet abstinence to attend, and attendance is required.
• AWOL groups that are about to begin are announced at live meetings and phone meetings for initial registration.
