Purpose
The purpose of the Public Information Committee is to share the Greysheeters Anonymous (GSA) solution with people across the nation, around the world, and throughout the global community. We offer experience, strength and hope, along with supporting public information materials -- including outreach through social media -- to help individuals and local groups let their communities know that there is a solution for those who can’t stop eating, or who are having trouble with food.
- Create a more updated and relevant Public Information Committee page on the GSA website and maintain it, so it remains current.
- Share PIC monthly meetings across all GSA social media platforms and members’ meeting chat pages to attract new attendees, and foster collaborative idea‑sharing and brainstorming. (Pending approval.)
- Identify opportunities to increase awareness of GSA at other 12-Step fellowship meetings and World Service Conferences by setting up informational booths and/or having individual members share GSA within their respective meetings. (Pending approval.)
- Identify the strengths of existing members—such as submitting free listings to online newspapers, distributing flyers to medical offices, engaging healthcare professionals, or connecting with the scientific community—to support targeted outreach. (Pending approval.)
- Improve education within the GSA community by navigating the website so members can, in turn, spread the message.
- Partner with the Social Media Manager and consider using a portion of the budget to support special projects from outside professionals.
- Identify a PIC Chairperson to work with Michal (Board Liaison) to ensure continuity and momentum in committee work.
